Sweet Potatoes Grown in the UK

Over the last few years I have grown to use sweet potatoes in variety of ways. I use them in daals, soups, salads, pancakes, rotis, meat and fish curries, and cakes. If I have it in my fridge I feel assured as I know I can cook something fascinating using it.

It seems I am not the only one and sweet potato sales have surged in super markets in UK.  But, like most vegetables that we enjoy, it does not grow naturally in this cold island. But now, thanks to the endeavor of the British arable farmer, the first batch of sweet potatoes is about to hit the super stores.

Look forward to buying it and using this low carbon foot print crop. Or is it truly low carbon?

Sweet success. The pioneering British farmers hope to knock spuds off their rivals.
